It’s great that DC and Marvel have been doing crossovers again recently. I just wish that they would do full-length stories again like the Limited Collectors/Treasury editions back in the 1970s/80s, or even like the Prestige format ones in the 1990s.

The Dynamic Do-over

 

Out with the old, in with the… old? Powerman and Owlman, as far as I know, made one appearance each. Well, Powerman made two if you count the time his story was reprinted in the Bronze Age. Powerman was a robot built by Superman to fool Batman and Robin into not helping him out on a case because he thought it was too dangerous for them. Owlman, on the other hand, was Robin who was artificially accelerated into adulthood by fumes from a box that Superman found in outer space. So, yeah, it’s your typical Silver Age shenanigans from the World’s Finest team.

Super Smash, Bro!

 

Ultraman (and by extension, the Crime Syndicate of America), to me, seemed like throwaway characters when they first appeared. It seemed like they were done specifically for the story in JL of A no. 29, and that should have been it. I guess I felt that way because their outfits didn't look well-designed, especially the monstrosity that the original Owlman wore. Also, their names sounded quite silly in comparison to their heroic counterparts.

Superman Versus A Guy With Allergies

Aahh... Karb-Brak. The Superman adversary who wasn't only allergic to his own alien race, but also allergic to Superman. And Vartox (to be fair, who ISN'T allergic to Vartox?). You can read all about the insanity that is Karb-Brak here.

DC Comics Presents: Dick, Clark

To the best of  my knowledge, Nightwing didn't appear on DC Comics Presents. Dick Grayson did, however, team up with Superman back when he was still Robin. Also, I just realized that this cover features two guys who went by the code name Nightwing at one time or another.

World's Finest: The First Generation

Another one that originally ran in The Lost 100 Pagers, conceptualized by Jim Shelley. I thought it was a very neat idea, and a Dominator as the puppet master of these events is very apt. Don't bother deciphering the Interlac glyphs on the arena wall, though. They're just a bunch of random letters I threw together as a design element.
